There are twenty baby food jars, since they are buy ten for £5.
Apparently, this falls within the Big Supermarket’s definition of a bulk buy.
After scanning the 11th jar, the Miss Jobsworth takes umbrage at my attempt to fiddle the system.
“Only ten jars per transaction” she informs me with a suitably snotty voice as she summons a supervisor.
It’s 20 jars, it’s hardly enough to open a cash & carry.
“I’ve never heard of that one” says the cashier next to Miss Jobsworth.
The supervisor arrives and dismisses Miss Jobsworth’s complaints
“But there’s twenty” she protests
“It doesn’t matter, just scan them” says Supervisor, to the now huffy Miss Jobsworth.
“It’s still a bulk buy” insists Miss Jobsworth, sulkily to the other cashier.
